"Mawkin"

Our new Scarecrow Collection was launched in our latest Newsletter and they were very well received and found new homes very quickly. We have been busy making more and the first of these has now been finished, meet Mawkin. As with the others his name is a regional word for Scarecrow, he is 5" tall and is made from a lovely selection of autumnal coloured mohair. His tunic and legs are made from russet coloured Hembold mohair with a straight, scruffy pile and quite a matted texture. His paws and feet are made from whispy straw coloured mohair and he has toning cashmere pads and inner paws, for his head and ears we have used cream backed, brown tipped Schulte mohair with a lovely velvety soft texture. His tunic has inset into it a panel of lime green mohair and this has also been used for the patches on his leg and back, he has shiny black English glass eyes and a black stitched nose. Mawkin is finished with woodwool straw detailing around his feet, paws and waist, he has a green felt hat from which straw pokes out and a lime green belly button. We have filled him with steel shot for a nice weight, I do hope you like him, I have loved making him. Mawkin costs £60 plus postage which I know is more than we normally charge for a small bear, but there is a lot of detailing and they take ages to make.
