This lovely bear is Blackthorn, he is 17" tall and is made of deep black German mohair with quite a flat, thick pile with a wave in it. Black bears are always very popular and this is the first big black clown that we have made. We have combined the black fur with mauve and lilac colours, he has mauve ultrasuede pads and paws, a lilac felt hat with little purple pom-poms on it and a really lovely striped ribbon ruff in different shades of purple.
Blackthorn is named as part of our Trees and Shrubs collection, he is filled with plastic pellets and has a pull cord music box in his tummy that plays "You Are My Sunshine." We have given him big black shiny German glass eyes and a mauve stitched nose, he also has a lovely big round wooden belly button with a black circular pattern on it. I love buttons and we recently visited a craft centre near Ironbridge where we found a great supply of unusual wooden buttons which I couldn't resist! I do hope you like Blackthorn, he is a lovely looking bear, a big armful of hugs!
