New Postal charges.

(April 07, 2013)
As some of you may be aware, Royal Mail have made changes to their postal charges for small and medium parcels. Previously prices were determined by weight, they are now determined by weight and size, and needless to say the prices have increased. It now costs £4.10 to send our smallest, lightest bears First Class Signed For (2 years ago it cost just £2.58!) We have therefore had to increase our standard postage price again, for which we apologize. We have added the option of sending your bear to you by Second Class Signed For which saves you a little money, but may it may take a day or two more for the bear to reach you. To cover the cost of packaging we are now charging £4 for second class and £4.50 for first class. The bears will still require a signature on receipt and can be tracked. They are insured up to a value of £50.
Larger bears will still have the same standard postage price added and we will adjust the price of the bear slightly to allow for the extra cost. For example, a 10" bear costs £6.75 to post first class and so the price of the bear will be adjusted to cover the additional charge over the £4 minimum. Whilst we have lost out on the smaller bears, the new rules will mean that all bears up to 8" tall (except 8" Clowns, because of the hat!) will be covered by the standard postage price of £4 or £4.50. Basically if the larger bears will fit in our new boxes which are 15.2cm cubed, they will be covered by the standard postage price!
We are sorry that we have had to increase these prices and hope that for the next year or so, Royal Mail resist the temptation to add more to the cost! If you have any queries about our charges please do not hesitate to contact us.
